Addressing the press yesterday in Juba, Attia Attroun Attia Chairman of youth for popular consultation said the body is formed to sensitize and educate the citizens of the Nuba Mountains and southern Blue Nile on the concept and exercise of the popular consultation.
Mr. Atroun revealed that the people of the two regions fought for Democracy, justice and equality and would not accept to remain a part of the old Sudan.
He said they want to be a part of southern Sudan that fought alongside with them against the Khartoum regime.
The Nuba Mountains and southern Blue Nile youth for popular consultation intends to carry out massive campaigns across northern Sudan and in major towns of southern Sudan.
The two regions were granted a popular consultation by the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement CPA. It was intended to take place before the end of the interim period.
