GoSS president has assured today the 2011 referendum on self-determination will take place and its results will be held no matter other opinions from international bodies.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit called a press conference this morning at his office in Juba to answer to the statement of UN chief Ban Ki-moon who was quoted to say that he will work to keep Sudan united even after the referendum.
Mr. Kiir said the SPLM will not allow any change in the implementation of the CPA and will respect the will of the people expressed in the 2011 referendum be it for union or for independence.
Mr. Kiir added that he wrote a letter to Mr. Ban asking clarifications about his statement on the unity of the Sudan.
He added he is still waiting for an answer.
