Hundreds Turn Up to Welcome New Sudan Foundation in Kumbur Payam

Hundreds of people, including children, gathered in Kumbur Payam to welcome the establishment of the New Sudan Foundation, also known as Tasis.

The rally follows a swearing-in ceremony held on Saturday in Nyala, the capital of the new Sudan government, where leaders Hamdan Dagalo and Abdel Aziz Adam al- Hilu formally took office.

Kumbur Payam Youth Chairman, Kumi Abdallah, expressed the readiness of local youth to work with the new leadership.

“The old Sudan is gone. This is a new beginning—one that is right for all Sudanese.”

Ramadan Chalorie, Secretary of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) in Heiban County, described the formation of the new government as a strategic and inclusive move.

“Let everyone take their position seriously. We must guide the new Sudan on the right path.”

He emphasized that the new Sudan must serve all its people, beyond the founding parties.

“The new Sudan will not belong to just the two parties. It will be for everyone.”

The Tasis agreement is a joint initiative between SPLM-N and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), also known as Damah el-Sarae, to create a secular and unified Sudanese government.
