Wau Youth United for Fashion, Talent and Development Centre on Tuesday launched Miss High Schools in Western Bahr el Ghazal State.

The program is meant to encourage girls to use artificial makeup product and raise awareness on early child marriage, Voice of Hope Radio reported.

The Manager of the Centre Denis Joseph says they target five high schools to compete for Miss High School in the state.

He points out that the competition will continue for five days which will end on Saturday.

Denis mentions that by the end of the competition three Misses will be selected and these include Miss Culture, Miss Creativity and Miss High School.

He earlier expressed happiness to see students participating positively.

Director-General in the state Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Mary Gabriel Tulba, encouraged every youth to share their talent for the wellbeing and goodness of the country.

The Miss High Schools competition that attracted government officials and schools among others was under the theme: “Choose books not babies”.
