Preparations for Consecration of Malakal Catholic bishop is smooth, says chair

Final touches of preparations for the consecration of Malakal Catholic Bishop-elect Stephen Nyodho are going smoothly, says Chairperson of High Organizing Committee in Juba.
Fr John Abraham says invited guests are Pope Ambassador to South Sudan Archbishop Hubertus Matheus Maria van Megen, Cardinal of the Sudan Gabriel Zubeir Wako, Archbishop of Khartoum Michael Didi, and other bishops and priests from the Sudan are already in Malakal.
He adds that Catholic Bishops of South Sudan and religious leaders are ready to fly to Malakal on Sunday morning for the installation of the new Bishop.
Fr Abraham discloses that Vice President James Wani Igga flew on Friday to Malakal in readiness to participate in the celebration.
The chairperson describes the consecration and installation as a very big occasion for the people of greater upper Nile region.
He asks the people of the region to unite and work together for peace and reconciliation especially now that South Sudanese are in the implementation of the revitalized agreement.
Earlier, the chairperson of the high organizing committee in Malakal confirmed to CRN that preparations are going very well and people are ready for the event on Sunday.
