The retired Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Malakal has passed away in Khartoum, Sudan on Friday.
Bishop Vincent Mojwok Nyiker died aged 84 at 11:00 AM after battling with a disease for long time.
The late Bishop was born in 1933 in town of Tunja, Southern Shilluk area, Upper Nile.
He was ordained priest in 1963 together with Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako of Khartoum and Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba.
Bishop Mojwok was assigned to many parishes including Lul before he became a bishop.
Bishop Mojwok took over the diocese from the late Bishop Pio Deng Yakuwan in 1978.
Pope John Paul II appointed him officially March 15, 1979.
Bishop Mojwok was consecrated on May 27, 1979 and retired on May 16, 2009.
