The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei told the faithful at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday that they have a role in supporting the new Bishop of Malakal.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe says through their support, the new Bishop to start his ministry.
‘We have a duty to support the new bishop. If you are to support, is something probably from yourselves, your collections for the new bishop. He can start his ministry for the best of his ability. Your life and love for the new bishop and for the church and your prayers are much more than what you can get in cash or in kind’ says Bishop Lodu.
The Bishop asks the Christians of Yei to pray for the Catholic Diocese of Malakal, the new bishop and all religious leaders.
‘The Diocese of Malakal has suffered for eight years without a Bishop, it was led by the apostolic administrator who worked very hard until the Diocese got a new Bishop’, he explains.
The Bishop was giving his homily on Sunday at Christ the king cathedral in Yei.
