Health Ministry launches covid-19 second jab in Rumbek

Lakes state ministry of health in collaboration with UNICEF and World Health Organization or WHO launched covid-19 second dose vaccin in Rumbek.

Rapid response team member Dr. Laat Makuek Manyiel says the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine is available for those going for their last dose.

He added that the state ministry of health received 3,528 doses.

‘‘It is the second phase of covid-19 vaccination, this covid-19 vaccine is intended to people who have already taken their first dose of the vaccination and for those who want to take their first dose, the vaccines are on the way but now we are giving priority only to people taking the second dose. We are also urging on the people who took their first doses from other places and outside the country come and complete their vaccination’’.

One of the persons who took covid-19 second dose vaccine Ruquier Mahmmoud encourages people to go for the vaccination to protect their lives.

She states that she did not feel any site effect since she received her first dose.

‘‘Of course vaccination is very important to all people, it protect us from COVID-19 disease. If you took first dose of the vaccine and you did not experience any side effects, mean you did not take the vaccine, there must be some headache, fever to let you know that there is stranger thing entered to your body and to you going to right way.

“Yes, there is no fear I took my first dose and experienced some fever, cold and I come to my second dose now, because it is important if it was not important I could not come back for the second dose”.

“I am appealing to all people all the communities Darfurians, Somalians, Ugandans and South Sudanese to come for vaccination because it is important.’’

AstraZeneca Covid-19 is approved by the government of South Sudan and is free to everyone.
