National delegation led by Security Minister in Torit to assess general situation

A National delegation from Juba led by the Minister of National Security, General Obuto Mamur Mete arrived in Torit on Wednesday to assess the general security situation.

The state governor, ministers, state politicians, organised forces, traditional dancers, chiefs, and other governmental officials welcomed the delegation, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Press Secretary in the office of the Governor, Aliandro Lotok says the visit of the minister is to appreciate the government of Eastern Equatoria for maintaining security in the state.

“A high power delegation from Juba led by the Minister of National Security arrives in Torit on a very important visit. First of all they are here to pay a courtesy call on the governor of Eastern Equatoria. They are here to appreciate the government really of Eastern Equatoria for maintaining security in the state we know that throughout the festive season Eastern Equatoria has been very peaceful, the local celebrated the Christmas and New Year day in peace and there was joy all over this state and so the Minister of National Security with all the team that came with him has come here really to say thank you to the people of Eastern Equatoria for really listening for the message from the government that has been always that please keep peace with your neighbours and with yourself”, he explains

Lotok says the visit is to assess the general security situation of the state and is expected to move around to interact with the people in some parts of the state.

“The minister is also here with his delegation to assess the general security situations in Eastern Equatoria which we say is very improving now due to the hard work exerted by the government of this state and also from the listening mind and the listening ears of the people of Eastern Equatoria State. They will also be here to interact with the populations in Eastern Equatoria to move around in this state talk to the people, to encourage them to continuously follow the law and order to continuously cooperate with the government to ensure that all areas of this state are stable, are free from violent and know when people say high level delegation from Juba like this it encourages the population to know that the government in Juba is with them and the government in Torit is with them”, he notes.

Lotok assures the population that there is hope this year because the government of Eastern Equatoria declares 2022 as the year of peace, stability, development and people’s unity.

He further says the delegation also came to see the construction of the highway.

“There is hope in this new year because the government of Eastern Equatoria has declared the year 2022 as a year for peace, a year for stability, a year for development and the year of the people of Eastern Equatoria to unit their ranks and filed and build very progressive state in Eastern Equatoria where anyone in this country can freely come to Torit and choose to live there without being interrupted on the way. This delegation is also seeing the work on the road, they are also to see how the constructors on the road are working, they want to see how the work is progressing on this road so that when they go back to Juba they will know that there is work in Eastern Equatoria”, he elaborates.

The Press Secretary in the office of the Governor made the remarks to Journalists on Wednesday in Torit.
