25-year-old man shot dead along Torit-Kapoeta road

A twenty-five-year old gentleman was shot dead along Torit-Kapoeta road on Thursday afternoon, Eastern Equatoria State Police Spokesperson confirms to Radio Emmanuel.

Colonel Mathew Ochan says the incident is reported to have occurred at 1:00 PM near Idolu Bridge.

He says the deceased had survived severe injury, before being rushed to Torit State Hospital where he passed on.

The government is still following the footmarks to bring perpetrators to face the law.

Colonel Ochan says the security situation of the road was normal since 2021 until yesterday when the incident of the shooting was reported.

He tells the population to move freely as security organs are patrolling the road.

“Since 2021 last year, the security of the road towards Juba-Torit, Torit-Kapoeta is quite normal until yesterday we got one information only one, but the security situation of the road is normal there’s nothing happening since that time until yesterday to our communities let them feel free the situation is calm the security organ on the road is looking for those criminals there’s patrolling both side since yesterday they are moving so, let them move freely there protections is there already”, Colonel Ochan encourages.

The police spokesperson talked to Radio Emmanuel on Friday in Torit, eastern Equatoria State.
