Unemployment challenges to youth across nation, Youth raised

The Youths in Tonj South County of Warrap State on Friday raised concern that many youths across South Sudan lack employment opportunities and free space to exercises their talents.

Don Bosco Radio recorded the youths’ comments during Youth Link Program in relations to the international Youth day celebrated on 12th August annually.

The day is commemorated to raise awareness about the problems faced by young people around the world which include the issues related to healthy, justice, employment and political participation.

Garang John Juma, Tonj south county interim youth chairperson said that ninety percent of youths are jobless due to the ignorance that young people are not educated and can`t do anything that up lift this nation.

John Juma advised the youths to create jobs for themselves by establishing their own community organizations in order to close the gap left by the government within the society.

Meanwhile Teresa Michael stressed that there are many young people with academic’s documents but no job for them because of the widespread corruption in the Nation.

She added that due to unemployment, youths became idles and lost hope for their future and this leads to dropout and unsuccessful education for girl due to pregnancies.

Michael calls on young people to refrains from conflicts and embrace peace to make development a priority because we cannot be proud of our independence but not roads infrastructure, good education, hospitals and economic stability.
