CABINET APPROVES CUSTOMS BILL

The national government on Friday approved the Customs Bill that will regulate and unify all taxation practices in the country.

Government spokesperson Barnana Marial Benjamin told journalists that the Customs Bill was very important for the Finance Ministry to regulate taxation on imported goods according to international standards.

He said South Sudan was a huge importer of foreign goods so it was important to have a law in place that is endorsed internationally.

Dr Marial added that the bill will be forwarded to the parliament for enactment.
