A total of 74 patients turned up for eye care services provided by an outreach team from Christian Blind Missions at the end of last month in Torit Hospital.

Torit Hospital Acting administrator James Abwoch told Radio Emmanuel in an interview to assess the progress of the exercise that the turn-up was low compared to last year.

He attributed the poor turn-up to the abrupt arrival of the specialists and lack of radio announcements on the starting day for exercise as the information did not reach Torit in time.

Mr Abwoch noted that 12 patients undertook cataract operations and 62 were treated for other eye complications.
