The Government of Central Equatoria welcomed the establishment of another brewery in Juba to produce standard quality drinks and provide employment to the youth.

A team from East African Breweries met Tuesday with Deputy Governor Manase Lomole to hold preliminary talks about the establishment of a beer factory in Central Equatoria.

Mr Lomole welcomed the investment of East African Breweries in the state to produce jobs for the youth and quality drinks.

He said brewing does not promote alcoholism but provides safe drinks to be consumed responsively.

Mr Lomole called on the brewers to conduct educating campaigns about the effects of alcohol abuse.

Director of Corporate Relations for East African Breweries Jojo Bonney said the company believes on responsible use of alcoholic drinks.

He said the company was ready to partner with the Ministry of Health to promote a responsible drinking campaign about the potential ill effects of alcohol consumption and how to combat them.

Mr Bonney added that the company produces quality standard brands approved by the authorities.

East African Breweries is the second international company planning to produce beer and soft drinks in Central Equatoria.

It brewes beer in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
