The President of the Republic of the Sudan will visit Juba after the Easter break.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists in a press conference on Thursday that President Omar Al Bashir officially accepted President Salva Kiir’s invitation to come to Juba.He said Mr Al Bashir was ready to come on Monday next week but the Government did not accept because it is a holyday and President Kiir will be in Doha, the Qatari capital, attending the Arab League Summit.
Dr Marial added that the new date will be announced to the media as soon as it is agreed between Juba and Khartoum.
President Bashir was expected to visit Juba since April of last year but the trip was postponed due to the tense relations between the two countries.
