A cattle-raid on Saturday displaced about 1,000 people in Gogrial East, Warrap State.

Local authorities said about 23 people were killed during the skirmishes.

Most of the affected fled to Warabyei, about 50 kilometres north of the county capital, UNOCHA said in its latest South Sudan Weekly Humanitarian Bulletin.

Aid organizations on the ground reported that the situation was calm by the end of last week.

Humanitarian officials are conducting an inter-agency assessment to verify and establish the humanitarian impact of the incident, and ensure an appropriate response.
