Western Equatoria Finance Ministry conducted a one-day workshop to launch the State Information Monitoring Working Group charged with establishing a database at the state level.

The workshop was supported by UNDP, the United Nations Development Program, to the spending agencies in various state ministries, Anisa Radio reported.

Acting Director for Planning and Statistics James Ritti said the working group is responsible for monitoring and evaluating all development projects in the state.

He added that among the 40 participants at the workshop, two would be selected from each spending agencies to form the working group.

Mr Ritti said the chairperson would Êcome from the State Finance Ministry and the co-chair from the National Bureau of Statistics at state level.

He explained that there was a three-year state strategic plan approved by the council of ministers that included agriculture, infrastructure, education, and health among other top priorities.

Mr Ritti said data collection from each unit would facilitate planning for better services.
