Traders in Wau expressed unhappiness for the non-stop robberies in Jou Market shops.
At the end of last week, robbers stole goods from a hairdressers centre and a boutique in Jou market by cutting the zinc roofs and traders reported losses valued at 11 thousand pounds.Zechariah Adam Ibrahim, a wholesale trader in Jou Market, told Voice of Hope that robbers broke into his shop on Monday night taking yeast and garlic valued at more than 1,100 pounds.
Mr. Adam said he opened a case against unknown criminals but nothing happened so far.
He urged government officials to protect the possessions of traders and let them resume delivering smooth services to the citizens in the state.
Robbed traders reported that until now no one from the Trade Chamber went to see them.
They suspect that the Police is behind the break-ins.
The Acting Police Commissioner promised to open an investigation to assess the claims.
