The Speaker of Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly has resorted to reading out the names of present Legislators to avoid complaint over allowances from those absent from the Assembly.

Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi initiated the roll call during an extraordinary session, on Friday, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Mr Ocholomoi said absentee MPs should not come to claim for allowances if they did not attend sessions.

The Speaker decided to take the roll call after continuous warnings he made to the state lawmakers over persistent absenteeism from the sittings.

He said some MPs use to miss deliberations without adequate reasons.

The state Assembly on Friday deliberated on the Specialized Committee’s reports and passed with amendments two documents including Powers and Privileges Bill.

The bi-annual financial report that covers July 1 to December 31, 2012, was also passed after Specialized Committee presented its findings.
