The International Committee of the Red Cross or ICRC in collaboration with South Sudan Red Cross Society trained volunteers in Western Equatoria State on restoring family links.

The two-day workshop was organized to train ICRC volunteers on how to link families torn apart by conflict, especially refugees and IDPs, who lost contacts with their members, Anisa Radio reported.

ICRC tracing delegate Elodie Magnier said they taught the participants on how to link families through writing letters.

She said the Red Cross will facilitate the communication between the torn-apart families inside South Sudan and abroad through the Red Cross messages forms.

Red Cross South Sudan Tracing Coordinator Noah Agib encouraged the volunteers to help those who are missing their beloved ones in different places.

Mr Moses Saki, a participant from Greater Mundri, appreciated the workshop and promised to disseminate the information to the rest of the people.

The workshop, the first of its kind, drew seven participants from Tombura, Nagero, Maridi, Greater Mundri, Mvolo, Nzara and Yambio Counties.
