The residents of Tonj South County in Warrap State on Thursday complained being charged money for the registration of Zain SIM cards.
Manyiel Nyin Athuai told Don Bosco Radio that he was charged two pounds to register the cards and three pounds for photocopying his ID.He added that Zain is sending text messages that the registration is free of charge but registrars are demanding money.
Mr Athuai said the money demanded was enough for him to buy new SIM card from another company.
He advised Zain to place the right and trusted staff to work for their customers.
Gor Majok said he too was asked for money while registrars in other centres register for free.
Zain registrar in Tonj South County said he was not paid by the mobile company based in Juba.
