Preparations are underway to open a new refugee site in Ajoung Thok in Unity State to host new arrivals from South Kordofan and ease Yida refugee site.
UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs weekly bulletin said site clearance of the reception area, selected household blocks and aid agency compounds were completed in Ajoung.The bulleting added that plot demarcation and mapping had begun as well.
Water and sanitation partners conducted a pumping test in the host community in Jamjang and they will drill boreholes for the host community in Jamjang to improve their access to potable water.
The bulletin said rub-halls will arrive shortly so that humanitarian organizations can begin stocking relief items on site.
