A driver working in the Torit office of UNMISS, the United Nation Mission in South Sudan, disappeared with two vehicles that belonged to the peacekeepers.

A UNMISS source who requested anonymity confirmed the theft to Radio Emmanuel and identified the suspect as Charles Kornelio.

The UNMISS official said Mr Kornelio signed for the two vehicles registration 44175 UN and 55033 UN, both hard-top landcruisers.

Radio Emmanuel discovered that Oling Depopo drove the second vehicle.

Eyewitnesses said the two cars crossed South Sudan to Uganda at midnight on Tuesday through the Ngomoromo border point in Magwi County.

The two drivers are believed to be Ugandan nationals who forged their South Sudan nationality cards to get the job with UNMISS.
