The members of Wau County Legislative Council were sworn in at Bagari new headquarters, Western Bahr El-Ghazal state, on Friday.

The Legislative Council is composed of 35 members representing all bomas within Wau County, Voice of Hope reported.

Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan told the gathering that the Legislative Council should be accounted for any development or failure in government policies.

He encouraged the councillors to stand firm in order to achieve their political task.

The Governor reiterated that it is only through the sons of the area that Wau could be developed or destroyed.

He encouraged the people of Wau County both within and outside the state to put their hands together in order to develop the area.

Mr Zachariah announced that construction of the County Headquarters started at the beginning of March.

The County Legislative Council will act as the voice of the community and should raise issues from grassroots to the state assembly.
