The National Legislative Assembly Speaker called on the youth to develop the communities through self-help projects.

James Wani Igga met a group of Lokoya youths in his office on Wednesday to discuss the importance of the association, Bakhita Radio reported.

He advised the Lokoya youth to identify the priorities in the community and implement some of them in order to receive assistance from the Government.

The Representative of the youth, John Batale, said his association took the Speaker’s advice seriously and would work to implement it.

He said he thanked the Speaker for visiting the Lokoya area regularly to acquaint himself with the situation on the ground.

Mr Batale revealed that the Lokoya Youth Association aimed to foster peace and development in the community and among the people of South Sudan.

He said the youth association would work hard to strengthen peaceful co-existence among the youth in the country.

Mr Igga urged all youth associations in South Sudan to occupy themselves with things that benefit the various communities in the country.

He said the Government could not implement development without the support of the youth and of all the people of South Sudan.
