Western Equatoria Education Minister on Sunday visited Naandi Payam in Ezo County to inspect the local primary schools.
Pia Philip Michael was accompanied by the project director for Jesuit Refugee Service, Aiden Azariwe, to assess the possibilities of upgrading one primary school to secondary, Anisa Radio reportedMr Pia said Naandi Payam had a great number of pupils who finished basic education but could not join secondary schools in Yambio.
He urged all parents to send their children to school and support those who wanted to further their studies, especially girls.
The minister warned parents that this year the government will not tolerate anybody who will not send his children to school.
Mr Pia instructed the teachers to send the orphans to plant potatoes in the school garden to pay their school fees instead of send them away.
The minister promised to sponsor the best girls in the P8 exams to study science in Maridi Girls √É’Boarding Science Secondary school.
Jesuit Refugee Service is a church based organization that came recently to Western Equatoria to support primary and secondary education.
