The Atar Community in Juba rejected the disruption of Malakal Peace and Reconciliation Agreement signed between the Atar community and Khorfulus in 2009.

A document received by Bakhita Radio reveals that the community strongly rejected the anti-peace movement that tried to sabotage the peace process by proposing to re-discuss the Malakal Peace Agreement.

The community accused Joshua Dau Diu for leading the process against the Malakal Peace and Reconciliation Agreement of 2009, dividing the people of Pigi County in Jonglei state.

The document said the Atar people condemned the individual decision taken by Mr Dau to hold a meeting on Monday to endanger the Malakal Peace and Reconciliation deal.

The community thanked President Salva Kiir for his interest on issues of peace among the people of South Sudan.

The Atar community assured President Kiir that it stood behind the efforts of the Presidential committee for Peace and Reconciliation in Jonglei state.
