The Deputy Commissioner of Tonj South County of Warrap State said Tonj Town was dirty and he wanted it cleaned.
Augustine Akoc Agoth said cattle is eating plastic and other harmful trash and getting sick and dying, Don Bosco FM reported.
He urged traders to stop using plastic bags and wrap their products in old newspapers.
Mr Agoth said the Town Council should lead the cleanup campaign.
He advised traders and sellers in Tonj Market to collect plastics and other trash and burn them.
Mr Agoth said it was the responsibility of everyone living in Tonj to keep the town clean.
