The SPLM-Lakes State on Tuesday swore in an acting Secretary after nearly four months of wrangling against the controversial appointment by State SPLM Chairman.
Mabor Ater Dhuol took the oath of office in presence of the Caretaker Governor Matur Chut Dhuol, the State SPLM Chairman Daniel Awet Akot and the state assembly speaker John Marik Makur amidst cheers from party members who attended the occasion.Governor Chut and several other speakers called for reconciliation and unity within the party.
Mr Ater’s appointment comes after the seat remained vacant following the death of Samuel Mathiang Keer in 2011.
