The national ministry of Telecommunication and Postal Services is starting the registration of SIM cards in Jonglei State in conjunction with the mobile operators.
The SIM card registration process was officially launched in Juba in early December.Deputy Minister of Telecommunication and Postal Services Beatrice Khamisa Wani told Bakhita Radio that the registration of SIM cards in Bor would take place around mid-February.
She said official contacts were already made with the state government.
Ms Khamisa said her ministry plans to officially launch SIM card Registration in each state.
She added that the decision was taken after realizing that most states have not registered many SIM cards except Central Equatoria which has registered half of the users.
SIM card registration has been extended until the end of February and it is free of charge.
