The school registration started in Tonj South County of Warrap State on Friday.
Education Director Mayom Lual told Don Bosco FM there are 45 schools in Tonj South County and that 38 of those schools are run by the government.Mr Lual said 13 schools are built in concrete and the others are under trees.
He added that private schools have to meet some requirements in order to operate.
Mr Lual said private schools were not allowed to register and open without approval.
He added that the private facilities needed eight classrooms, benches, toilets, water, walls, kitchen, store materials and teachers in order to register.
Mr Lual urged all teachers to keep proper records of the students in the school.
Justin Lual Madoor, a teacher at private Academic School, urged parents and guardians to send girls to school.
He said schooling gives many advantages to girls.
Academic School Head teacher William Majok said he opened also a secondary school and 50 students had already registered.
He urged parents to support their children’s need for better education.
