Juba County supported by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency or JICA is opening on Tuesday a new controlled dumping site for the garbage produced by the town.
In a statement issued on Monday, JICA said this is an improvement of the existing dumping site in Rejaf Payam in September 2012.It explained that the dumping pit was expanded and a gas vent pipe was installed to receive the waste increasing day by day.
The statement added that the fence, gate, control building and signboard were finished in January.
This improvement started with the clearing of scattered waste around the dump site, in the Yei Road, continue with proper dumping in the pit using a cell method with heavy equipment to reduce environmental effect such as smell, fire and flies.
