The director of Solidarity with South Sudan or SSS on Monday paid a one-day visit to the Catholic bishop of Yei.
Joseph Callistus told Radio Easter that he wanted to update the bishop about the Board of Governors meeting in Rome and the SSS assembly in Rumbek, both last December.Fr Callistus said SSS is currently training 470 teachers on the job in Malakal, Yambio, Rumbek, Leer and Agok.
Ninety three students are attending the courses of registered nurses and midwives in Wau.
Fr Callistus pointed out that SSS staff was helping the Diocese of Yei through ongoing formation for the clergy.
SSS is an umbrella group of over 220 catholic congregations supporting 35 religious women and men and lay volunteers teaching education, nursing, pastoral work and agriculture skills in South Sudan.
