Non-Governmental Organizations or NGOs operating in Western Equatoria State have joined the state government to support the prisons.
The statement came after a meeting on Thursday in Yambio about the general welfare of the prisons in the state, Anisa radio reported.UNMISS state coordinator Khalil Hailu expressed his gratitude adding that it is very important to develop prisoners in order to grant them rights and dignities.
INTERSOS representative Joyce Anibie promised a double effort to continue supporting the female prisoners in kind and materials.
Director for planning in the Ministry of Agriculture Augustino Agumeringo expressed concerns to improve food production through prisons.
State director for prisons Major General Ramadan Bullen Laku thanked all the NGOs for their supports to the prisons.
