Residents of Kimotong, in Eastern Equatoria, have turned part of a local primary school into a brewery and two clients have already died at the facility.
State education minister Michael Lopuke Lotyam made the revelation to the State Assembly last week, Radio Emmanuel reported.He said some politicians, civil servants and opinion leaders in Kimotong area were using the local school for brewing and selling alcohol while teachers and pupils were pushed into a congested block.
Minister Lopuke explained that the school became a death zone as two clients were killed while drinking alcohol at the joint.
He said teachers refused to teach in Kimotong School.
Minister Lopuke made the revelation that residents turned the school into a brewery during his schools assessment report to the House.
MPs are yet to deliberate on the report and make recommendations.
