A Church based organization applied to the Western Equatoria ministry of general education to invest in the sector in the state.
Jesuit Refugee Service Project or JRS director Aiden Azairwe met with minister Pia Phillip Michael on Wednesday to discuss areas of concern and intervention, Anisa Radio reported.Minister Pia pointed out training of secondary school teachers, providing secondary school materials, laboratories for science schools and equal distribution of primary schools into every Payam in the state as priority areas of intervention.
Mr Azairwe proposed to support four secondary schools in Yambio, and another five in Nzara.
He said two schools would be renovated and furnished and JRC would assist in capacity building and promoting girl child education.
Minister Pia appreciated JRS intervention to improve education in Western Equatoria State.
JRS is a catholic organization ran by the Jesuits to support refugees.
