EDUCATION MINISTRY PLANS TO BOOST STANDARDS

The ministry of Education in the Nuba Mountains is planning to boost educational standards in the region despite of the current conflict.

Nuba Mountains Education Director General Kuti Arensto Afjan said they were planning to support education.

He was speaking during an education strategies workshop for building educational capabilities and integration of Arabic learning system into the New Sudan.

Mr Arensto cited formation of educational personnel as a tough challenge as they entirely depended on the community for support.

He added that the authorities were looking into supporting child education because they were interested in getting knowledge.

Many of the children in the Nuba Mountains left the region due to the 18-month ongoing conflict searching for education in neighboring countries.

The education Director said they were determined to support primary education in the region despite difficulties they were meeting.

Mr Arensto added that Nuba Mountains primary education standards were good compared to other schools in the neighboring countries.
