The Chairman of the SPLM-North in South Kordofan State said the movement is seeking peaceful means to end the conflict in Nuba Mountains next year.
Ibrahim Makki Ibrahim said the SPLM-North hopes that the New Year brings peace for the people of Nuba Mountains and the whole of Sudan.He added that the SPLM-North main goal is to change the regime in Khartoum and to protect the people of Nuba Mountains.
Mr Makki stated that the movement is struggling for peace and without peace the rebels will continue sacrificing themselves for the good of their people.
He stressed that the SPLM-North has stood and is standing with its people including the whole of Sudan.
Mr Makki trained military officers that graduated last month in Nuba Mountains.
