Western Equatoria Police Commissioner advised all citizens to celebrate in peace the arrival of 2013.

Major General Mayom Deng Biar warned that no celebratory gunshots were allowed, Anisa Radio reported.

He added that no one was allowed to carry knives.

Any violation of the order would not be forgiven.

Major General Deng said security was strong in Western Equatoria State since the beginning of the Catholic Centenary celebrations in Mupoi and of the Episcopal Church in Yambio, including Christmas.

He called for the sense of love and hope among the people.

Major General Deng said everyone should take his own Bible or Koran to go for prayers and celebrate the New Year in peace.

The Western Equatoria Police Commissioner wished a happy New Year celebration to all citizens of South Sudan and of Yambio in particular.
