The national government has announced on Friday in Juba that it has added two new types of passports, categorized as official and business.
This addition makes South Sudan to now issue six categories of passports: emergency travel documents, ordinary, diplomatic, special, official and business passports.Government spokesperson, Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists that the council of ministers has endorsed the amendment of section eight of the immigration and passports and approved issuance new types of passport.
Dr Marial explained that the diplomatic and special passports are issued by the ministry of Foreign Affairs and the rest are issued through Interior ministry.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit chaired the last meeting of the council of ministers in the year 2012.
