PRESIDENT KIIR CONCERN OF INSECURITY

The President of South Sudan Salva Kiir has expressed concern on insecurity in Juba, Wau and other towns of South Sudan.

Government Spokesman Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press on Friday that President Kiir is concern on the insecurity in the country that continue to claim lives of South Sudanese and foreigners.

The Minister said some elements with political agenda are behind the insecurity in the major towns of country and that the government will strengthen its security forces to stop the unnecessary killing of the citizens, and foreign residents in South Sudan.

Dr Marial accused some nationals being used by some foreign enemies to destabilize South Sudan.

He said some of the suspects have been arrested without, but he did not give details on their number and origin, adding that the police will release to the public details of the ongoing investigation.

Dr Marial revealed that the President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to visit Juba soon adding that PresidentÊ Kiir is expected to receive his Ugandan Counterpart for a one-day visit.

He did not explain the purpose of the visit and the date of arrival.

The spokesperson made the statement after the Council of Ministers’ meeting on Friday chaired by President Salva Kiir.
