Youth of Wau County have blocked three main roads leading to Wau Town in revenge to the broken promises made by the state government.

The youth blocked WauÐRaja and Wau-Baggari roads and the road going to Yambio paralyzing traffic and goods movement in the three directions.

The youth said they are blocking the roads because the state government is detaining two activists since Tuesday.
Julius Flario Osman, Secretary of the Youth Committee, told Voice of Hope Radio that they are blocking the roads because their Chairperson and a Committee member were apprehended and are still under the custody of security organs.
He said they will not reopen the roads until their activists are released and that the issue of County transfer is taken back to legal procedures.
Mr Flario said they reached this decision with the consent of Wau County citizens.
He said they have no problem with security organs in the state adding that the activities of NGOs including polio campaign are running normally.
The three main roads which are located southeast of Wau Town are very essential for the influx of consumable goods from the neighbouring countries.
