A civil society activist has called on citizens to hold their leaders accountable in order to foster development in South Sudan.

Edmond Yakani is the Coordinator for Community Empowerment Program Organization or CEPO. He said citizens needed to hold their leaders answerable to the demands of the people, Radio Easter reported.

Mr Yakani appealed to the people to live in peace, reconciliation and cooperation.

He said citizens should access information to keep updated with the new developments in the nation.

CEPO Coordinator made the statement while addressing executive chiefs from Yei and Wunduruba at three-day workshop in Yei on Friday.
