South Sudan International Agency for Development or SSIAD launched a four-day Girl Child education training at Timothy Primary School on Monday in Nasir County of Upper Nile state.
SSIAD Trainer Wilson Tabang Ruot told Internews that the training was to encourage girls to go to school in Nasir County and marry only after finishing their education.Tabitha Nyakuoth Choul said it was important to educate girls.
Mama Tabitha called upon parents and guardians to stop using tradition as a hindrance to girls’ education.
Nyakuma Dak Gony, a student in Timothy Primary School, blamed some parents for not allowing their daughters to go to school.
The launch was attended by hundreds of parents and students.
