Authorities in Yei River County of Central Equatoria stopped the illegal production of identity cards after a number of candidates to Yei Medical Training Institute were found with fake documents last week.
Commissioner Juma David Augustine told the press on Saturday in Yei that he banned unauthorized Information Technology Centre operators and stamp designers, Radio Easter reported.He said operators need licenses to produce ID cards and stamps.
Commissioner Juma said only recognised and registered institutions had the green light to produce identity cards for their members.
The Yei River County Commissioner explained that the local order was issued to prevent criminals from producing fake documents in the region.
