Authorities recovered 500 cows taken on Wednesday during an attack to Peth Camp of Tonj South County in Warrap State that left three people dead and eight injured.
Deputy Chief Inspector of Police William Majak told Don Bosco FM that the stolen cows were back in Manyangok Payam.He said eight cows were killed during the shootout with the cattle raiders.
Mr Majak said three seriously injured civilians were taken to Juba for treatment.
He urged all the citizens of Tonj to avoid going into the bush, especially in the sensitive areas.
He officer said the raiders on hiding remained a threat to the people in the areas where the attack took place.
