A man living with HIV and AIDS has advised his fellow HIV carriers to be opened to the community and seek medical counselling from a doctor.

Oziah Elisamah said all people living with the virus should show themselves to the doctor in order to receive treatment.

He advised that retroviral drugs are the only hope for the infected people.

Mr Elisamah said he freely shares with people about his status in the residential area and beyond.

He revealed that his family members are now treating him well after they understood the nature of his disease.

Mr Elisamah who is now serving as one of the counsellors with the Red Cross warned that HIV carriers who hide their disease would increase its intensity.

Last week, an official of a Voluntary Test and Counselling in Juba said big population of infected people is dominated by young school girls.

Stigma and discrimination kill many HIV and AIDS patients in South Sudan.
