COMMISSIONER ADVISES FARMERS TO USE SAWS

The Assistant Agricultural Commissioner of Yei River County, Central Equatoria State has on Tuesday advised coffee growers to use pruning saws in their farms.

Edmond Taban Gogo told Radio Easter that Food and Agriculture Organization-FAO has donated pruning saws to the County Agricultural department.

Ê

He advised farmers not to use pangas and axes for pruning their coffee trees.

Mr. Gogo said the farmers need to use the machines tactically and that Payam extension workers will guide them while using the pruning saws.

He also advised farmers that the best time for pruning the coffee trees is January to late April.

Mr. Gogo warned the people against making business with the pruning saws.

The Assistant Commissioner of Agriculture made the advice in his office on Tuesday.
