The Minister of Information in Lakes State has said that the suspension of Rumbek FM Radio senior editor was not because of hosting the SPLM state chairman Daniel Awet Akot.
Charles Badiri Mayen issued a statement on Tuesday saying the journalist was suspended for various disciplinary cases in the ministry.He said the procedure used by John Madol Panther for hosting a senior government official was not administrative.
Mr Badiri said dignitaries like Awet are always accompanied by government officials.
The minister said the state government has no problem with Daniel Awet Akot, but that Panther being a junior staff has humiliated SPLM state Chairman at the Radio station
Charles Badiri appealed to public to be nationalist than practicing tribalism and nepotism.
John Madol Panther told Radio Good News that, his suspension came about hosting the SPLM Chairman Daniel Awet Akot.
He said it was indicated in his suspension letter that he has been suspended for hosting Lakes State SPLM Chairman live.
The Minister said Awet was given studio appointment on 11th November and that the message was communicated to his private secretary.
