The Commissioner of Yei River County has imposed a night curfew to bring security and stop criminality.
Juma David Augustine said the ban on movement after midnight came from last month’s security meeting resolutions.He added that security was beefed up and the night curfew continued until the county was free from wrongdoers.
The Commissioner announced that the authorities were working closely with the local chiefs and the organized forces to identify residents in the county, both nationals and foreigners.
Mr Juma said marungi chewing was banned in the County because it brought insecurity.
He also stopped people watching late night football matches in public joints to protect them from bandits on their way home.
The Commissioner was speaking to the press at Yei River County headquarters on Wednesday.
